Emory Athletics Forms Partnership With Career Athletes

The Emory University Department of Athletics and Recreation, Career Center and Career Athletes have recently agreed to a partnership providing student-athletes a truly unique resource for career development and professional networking.

This Online Career Community Network will provide benefits such as mentoring, professional networking, virtual career coaching and 13 years of best practices from the leading and largest career services organization assisting athletes, athletic departments and campus career centers.  Individual members of Career Athletes are also able to network with over 90,000 former college athletes from across the nation while having access to thousands of career opportunities and internships exclusive to www.careerathletes.com.

Emory University’s Clyde Partin Sr. Director of Athletics and Recreation, Tim Downes stated, “Through our partnership with Career Athletes, we are achieving two very important goals: providing our current student-athletes with the resources to realize their career dreams and connecting our former student-athletes back to the program.  Career Athletes is helping us grow our Emory Eagles family.”

Career Athletes provides a unique platform to connect with athletic alumni, who are encouraged to join the network as mentors and/or job seekers. Current Emory student-athletes and alumni can activate their account on Career Athletes by going to www.careerathletes.com/emoryuniversity.

“It’s obvious that the administration at the Emory University cares about its student-athletes beyond their playing days and graduation, and we are excited to be partnered with such an outstanding institution,” said Chris Smith CEO and President of Career Athletes. “Due to the demanding nature of collegiate athletics, these athletes face a unique set of challenges regarding career development not typically experienced by the general student-body. The current economic environment will provide even greater challenges for today’s student-athletes to overcome, making career development more important than ever.”
