On a gorgeous Saturday morning during Homecoming Weekend, the
Michael Kaminsky Intramural Park Dedication was held down at
Candler Fields.
Back in June of 2010, Michael Kaminsky, a 1989 graduate of Emory,
made a $1 million gift to the intramural athletics program, half of
which will fund improvements to the university’s intramural
field and facilities, while the other half will establish an
endowment for the intramural program.
Attended by many people within the Emory community, including
school President James Wagner and Dr. John Ford, Senior Vice
President/Dean, Campus Life, Kaminsky, along with his
daughters took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that officially
named the Park after him.
As an undergraduate, Kaminsky was active in the intramural program,
playing baseball, football and basketball. In addition, he
served as sports chairman of his fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Pi.
