Serving as Coordinator of Athletic Facilities & Events since June of 2017 is Greg Smith.
Greg originally joined the Eagles' athetic department in the summer of 2016 as Assistant Athletic Director for Events and Marketing.
Prior to his arrival to Atlanta, Smith served a three-year stint as Athletic Operations Manager at American University. Among his duties at American were the overseeing event execution for varsity programs and assisting in the event operations for basketball, wrestling as well as internal and external events. He assisted in managing over 200 events a year, ranging from practices, meetings, concerts, competitions and university functions, and handled event logistics.
Prior to his appointment at American, Smith was the Event Operations Associate for Elite Tournaments, where he was the site coordinator while providing onsite event management during tournament and events. In addition, he has other work stops as the Game Day Operations Coordinator for the Washington Kastles of World Team Tennis and as a Marketing Assistant at the University of Maryland, where he developed initiatives for promotions and game production for the volleyball, field hockey, softball and women’s lacrosse programs.
A native of South Park, Pennsylvania, Smith earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in sport communication from Ashland University in 2009. He then moved onto the University of Akron where he obtained a Master of Science in Education, majoring in in physical education/coaching in 2011. While at Akron, he worked as a graduate assistant in the Athletic Marketing and Promotions Department.
A member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA), Greg’s family includes wife, Aly.
