Gabe Shivers

Emory University centerfielder Gabe Shivers hit .526 while leading the squad in runs batted in during five games last week.  Shivers started all five games for Emory, going 10-for-19 with three doubles, four runs scored and seven RBIs, in addition to two stolen bases.  During Emory’s 10-7 upset victory over 26^th-ranked Methodist University, the junior went four-for-four with three RBIs, a double and a stolen base.  He also went two-for-three with two RBIs and a double during Emory’s 13-6 win over Guilford College.  Shivers is batting .398 with 28 runs scored and 15 RBIs this season, in addition to a team-high eight stolen bases and a perfect fielding percentage, helping Emory to a 15-17 overall record in 2010.
