Emory Baseball Heads to UAA Tournament in Sanford, FL
The Emory baseball team will look to continue its good play as
of late, as the Eagles will head to Sanford, FL for the University
Athletic Association (UAA) Tournament, from Tuesday, March
9th through Saturday, March 13th.
The Eagles will open the tournament as winners of five of their
last six games, and with an overall record of 7-6 this
season. Emory has won the UAA Championship nine times, the
last in 2008.
Emory will play a doubleheader on the first day of the tournament,
facing Brandeis University at 11:00 AM, and Washington University
(Mo.) at 2:30 PM. Brandeis currently stands at 1-3 on the
season, while Washington is 5-1 and winners of four straight.
On Wednesday, March 10th at 6:00 PM, the Eagles will
face the University of Rochester, the reigning UAA Champions.
The Yellowjackets are 2-0 this season.
The Eagles will then face Brandeis again at 4:00 PM on Thursday,
March 11th. On Friday, March 12th at
2:30 PM, the Eagles will take on 2-5 Case Western Reserve
University, who the Eagles defeated 5-3 at Chappell Park on
Sunday.
Emory will round out the tournament with a second game against the
University of Rochester at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March
13th.
All games will be played at Sanford Memorial Stadium in Sanford,
