Emory Baseball Heads to North Carolina for Weekend Tournament
The Emory University baseball team will make the trip north to
Rocky Mount, North Carolina this weekend, to take part in the North
Carolina Wesleyan/ Coldwell Banker 2010 Tournament of
Champions.
Emory will play a doubleheader on Saturday, facing
17th-ranked Cortland State University at 11:00 AM, and
North Carolina Wesleyan at 3:00 PM. The Eagles will wrap up
the tournament on Sunday, facing North Carolina Wesleyan again at
3:00 PM.
Emory will enter the weekend with a 0-2 record, while Cortland
State is yet to play a game this season, and North Carolina
Wesleyan is 0-1.
This will be the first meeting between the Eagles and the Red
Dragons of Cortland State since Emory won an NCAA Tournament
matchup between the two squads 6-2 in 2007. Last
season, Emory defeated NC Wesleyan 9-4 at Chappell Park.
