Emory Baseball Denied Bid to NCAA Tournament
The 2011 season officially came to a close for the Emory
University baseball team on Monday, as the Eagles did not receive a
bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, when the bracket was
revealed early in the morning.
The Eagles finished the season with an overall record of 26-17, and
were ranked sixth in the South Region in the last NCAA poll.
Overall, the season was a productive one for the Eagles, who
recorded the most wins since the 2007, bouncing back from a 19-20
campaign in 2010. Emory also won its first University
Athletic Association (UAA) Championships since 2008, and its
10th overall.
The season’s end also marks the conclusion to the careers of
Emory’s seniors – Andrew Cohn,
Ryan Jones, Elliott Coor,
Patrick Riebsame, Chris Monaco,
Evan Plys, and Gabe Shivers.
