Emory Baseball to Play at #8 Birmingham Southern on Wednesday
The Emory University baseball team will be back in action on
Wednesday, traveling to Birmingham Southern College for a 7:00 PM
matchup against the eighth-ranked Panthers.
Emory, which received votes in the latest ABCA/Collegiate Baseball
NCAA Division III poll, will enter the game with an overall record
of 17-10 on the season, including a 2-3 record in road games.
The Eagles are batting .307 as a team, while the pitching staff has
an ERA of 4.59.
Birmingham Southern, ranked eighth in the ABCA poll, currently
stands at 20-4 on the year, including a 7-3 mark at home. The
Panthers are batting .302 as a team, while its pitching staff has
recorded a 2.73 ERA in 2011.
Emory is 4-7 all time against Birmingham Southern, including a
split of last year’s two game series. During the two
games last year, Jay Page hit .500 with two
doubles and four RBIs, while Gabe Shivers
contributed a four-for-eight performance with a RBI.
