Eagles to Wrap Up Regular Season at LaGrange
The Emory University baseball team will complete the 2011
regular season on Tuesday, traveling to LaGrange College for a 6:00
PM game against the Panthers.

Emory Eagles
The Eagles are 26-16 in 2011, including a record of
5-6 in true road games this season. Emory is batting .305 as
a team during the year with an average of 7.6 runs scored per game,
while the pitching staff has a 4.56 ERA with a .293
opponents’ batting average. Emory is led by head coach
Mike Twardoski, whose 364-163-1 career record is
good for a .690 winning percentage, the highest mark among active
UAA coaches, 15th-highest among all active NCAA Division
III coaches, and 21st-best mark among Division III
coaches all time to start the season. Assistant Coaches
Bobby Perez, Brian Clark, and
Greg McMichael will complete Coach
Twardoski’s staff for the 2011 season.
LaGrange Panthers
LaGrange will enter play on Tuesday with a record of
20-19, including an 18-5 record at home during the season.
The Panthers are batting .285 as a team this season with 6.7 runs
scored per game, while their pitching staff has a team 4.86 ERA
with a .295 opponents’ batting average. LaGrange is led
by former Emory head coach Kevin Howard, who has a career 509-306-1
record, including a 332-114 mark with the Panthers. He is
assisted by David Kelton and Ben Hudson.
Matchup History
Emory is 26-8 all time against LaGrange, including
victories in each of the last three meetings and a 14-4 record all
time in LaGrange. This will be the second meeting of the
season between the two teams, with Emory coming away with a 7-5 win
over the Panthers at Chappell Park on February
23rd. In that game, Gabe
Shivers and Ryan Jones each had three
hits and two RBIs. Emory starter Caleb Long
earned the win in that game after allowing three runs on six hits
over five innings, while Jason Edwards contributed
two innings of hitless relief work.
