Baseball to Play at D-II North Georgia on Tuesday
The Emory University baseball team will head to North Georgia
College and State University in Dahlonega, GA on Tuesday, for a
7:00 PM game against the NCAA Division II Saints.

Emory Eagles
The Eagles will enter Tuesday’s game looking to
reverse a two-game losing streak, after falling twice during the
weekend to Berry College and dropping to 25-14 overall on the
season. The Eagles are 5-5 in true road games this
season. As a team, Emory is batting .309 this season with 7.8
runs scored per game, while their pitching staff has a 4.45 earned
run average with a .285 opponents batting average. Emory is
led by head coach Mike Twardoski, whose 363-161-1
career record is good for a .692 winning percentage, the highest
mark among active UAA coaches, 15th-highest among all
active NCAA Division III coaches, and 21st-best mark
among Division III coaches all time to start the season.

North Georgia Saints
The Saints are 25-16 in 2011, after winning two out
of three last weekend against Augusta State University at
home. North Georgia has a record of 15-10 on its home field
this season. The Saints are batting .296 as a team this
season while scoring 5.7 runs per game, while their pitching staff
has recorded a 3.78 ERA and allowed a 2.59 opponents batting
average. North Georgia is led by head coach Tom Cantrell, who
is 466-252 during his 12 years with the team. He is assisted
by Chris Widing and Gerald Allison.
Matchup History
Emory is 6-10 all time against North Georgia,
including a 3-8 record in games played in Dahlonega. Last
season, the Eagles fell 4-3 to the Saints, despite jumping out to a
2-0 lead after one inning. In last year’s game,
Patrick Riebsame picked up two hits for the
Eagles. Emory’s last win against North Georgia came
during the 2009 season, a 6-3 victory.
