Hannon Named to D3Baseball.com National Team of the Week

Emory University sophomore Brandon Hannon was named to the D3Baseball.com team of the week, following his performance at the 2012 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships last week.

Hannon led all players at the UAA Championships with a .520 batting average during the eight-game tournament.  Hannon was 13-for-25 with a tournament-high 10 runs scored and .639 on base percentage, while a UAA Championship record with 10 walks.  The centerfielder also finished second among all UAA players with a .560 slugging percentage and eight stolen bases on as many attempts.

Hannon is now batting a team-high .373 this season with 22 runs scored, and has stolen 12 bases on as many attempts during the year.  The Eagles claimed their second-straight UAA title with a 7-1 record at the conference tournament, and now stand at 14-7 overall this season.

Hannon becomes the first Emory player to be named to the D3Baseball Team of the Week, which was started earlier this season.  He was the only representative from the UAA to be named to the team, based on the tournament last week.

Hannon and the Eagles will return to action on Friday, March 23rd at 7:00 PM, as the Eagles will travel to Montgomery, Alabama for a two-game series against Huntingdon College.
