Sprague was a key member of the Eagles’ starting rotation during the 2013 season, appearing in 10 total games, including nine in a starting role. He finished his freshman campaign with a 4-5 record and a 4.47 earned run average, striking out 33 batters and walking just 17 over his 54.1 innings pitched. Sprague opened his career with a 3-1 record and a 2.03 ERA over his first four starts. He claimed victories in each of his first three starts, pitching seven innings in each outing. The right hander made his collegiate debut on February 17th at Rhodes College, contributing to a team shutout with seven innings of six-hit pitching. He also earned a win on March 3rd against Huntingdon College, allowing just two earned runs to the eventual NCAA Tournament team. Sprague wrapped up his season by pitching a career-high 7.1 innings against Piedmont College on April 26th, earning the win in the game after allowing just one earned run and matching his season-high with seven strikeouts. Sprague was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on both February 18th and March 4th.

Prior to Emory:
Played for the Viewpoint School baseball team for four seasons, serving as the team captain during his junior and senior years... Was a three-time Liberty League MVP, and a thre-time ALL CIF first team selection... Helped his team to four Liberty League Championships... Coached by Frank Pontello in high school... Also played basketball and football.
