Emory University sophomore outfielder Wilson Morgan hit a team-best .571 during the Eagles’ four games last week. Morgan led all Emory players with eight hits in 14 at bats, five runs batted in and four walks, finishing the week with a .667 on base percentage. He also scored three runs and stole a base. During Tuesday’s 10-5 win against LaGrange, the left-handed hitter batted sixth and went two-for-five with two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Again batting sixth during the Eagles’ 8-3 loss at Piedmont College on Thursday, he went two-for-two with a pair of walks. Morgan was moved into the clean-up spot on Friday, helping lead Emory to a 9-8 win over Piedmont at home, going three-for-four with two runs, two RBIs and a walk. He wrapped-up the week and the regular season with a one-for-three performance, including a walk and an RBI, in a 6-4 victory against Piedmont on Saturday. Morgan is now batting .368 this season with 12 runs scored, 20 runs batted in and six stolen bases, along with a .435 on base percentage. The Eagles finished the regular season with a record of 26-12.
