Emory University sophomore Richard Brereton was named to the D3Baseball.com South Region Third Team on Monday afternoon.
Brereton makes his first appearance on the organization's All-Region team after turning in one of the top dual threat campaigns in the south in 2018. The Darien, CT native was the only member of the Eagles to start in all 38 contests, ending the year with a .320 batting average and posting team-highs in runs (37), hits (48), doubles (10), triples (3), slugging percentage (.467) and stolen bases (13).
On the mound, he collected five wins in 12 appearances, going 5-4 overall and registered a 3.60 earned run average and 66 strikeouts in 70 innings pitched. All figures representing team-highs.
The All-Region award is Brereton's second of the spring as earlier this year he was one of three Eagles to garner All-University Athletic Association acclaim, earning a berth on the league's First Team.
Emory concluded the 2018 season with a 20-18 overall record and finished second in the UAA standings with an 11-5 mark.
