The Emory University Baseball team posted its eighth straight and 26th overall 20-win season in 2018, finishing the season with a 20-18 record.

After getting off to a 4-9 start through the first 13 games of the season, the Eagles rattled off 16 wins over their final 25 games to continue their string of consecutive seasons with 20 wins. 11 of the last 16 victories came against University Athletic Association foes as the Eagles finished second in the UAA standings with an 11-5 record.

Pitcher/Outfielder Richard Brereton emerged as one of the top dual threat players in the country as a sophomore, earning D3Baseball.com All-South Region Third Team and All-UAA First Team honors. In 38 games, Brereton led the Eagles offense with 48 hits, 37 runs, 10 doubles, three triples, 15 walks, 13 stolen bases, .467 slugging percentage while hitting for a .320 average and belting a pair of home runs and on the mound, he posted a 5-4 record in 12 appearances, 11 starts, to go along with a 3.60 ERA and a team-leading five victories and 66 strikeouts. He exceled during UAA contests, going a perfect 4-0 in his four starts while pitching to a 2.03 ERA with conference opponents hitting just .168 against him

Senior Bubby Terp and sophomore Christopher Stern joined Brereton on the All-UAA First Team as the Eagles placed a total of five players on the all-conference team. Terp batted for a career-high .321 average while collecting 45 hits and tied for the team lead with 33 RBI in 38 games played. Stern had a breakthrough campaign in his second season, recording team highs in average (.328), home runs (3) and RBI (33).

Senior Nick Chambers and freshman Jack Rubenstein rounded out the Eagles on the All-UAA team, earning Second Team berths. Chambers batted .315 across 37 games and ranked second on the team with 46 hits, 14 walks and nine stolen bases while driving in a career-best 25 runs. Rubenstein led all newcomers freshman with 32 games played, posting a .286 batting average with 11 runs, seven doubles, 14 RBI and had a tremendous knack of getting hit by a pitch, ranking second all-time in a single season with 15 HBPs.

Chambers was also named to his first CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District team for his performance on the field as well as in the classroom.

In addition to Brereton, the Eagles' pitching staff featured a trio of three-game winners in sophomore James Robertson and freshmen Jack Moore and Christian Bradley. Robertson and Moore each posted 3-4 records as Emory's No. 2 and 3 starters with Robertson recording 37 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched, including a career-high 10 Ks against Brandeis on April 14th. Bradley notched three wins and a team-high three saves as one of the top options out of the bullpen. In his first season, he registered a 3.28 earned run average in 14 appearances to go along with 16 punch outs in 24 innings pitched.

Head Coach Mike Twardoski, in his 19th season at the helm of the program, posted his 18th winning record and 18th season with at least 20 wins, upping his career mark with the Eagles to 561-268-1.
