Emory University junior Ryan Adelman was named the University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week on Monday afternoon. It is the first career honor for the Short Hills, NJ native.
Adelman reached base safely in all five plate appearances as Emory fell to crosstown foe Oglethorpe in the team's lone game of the week Wednesday night. Adelman recorded his first four-hit game in his career, going 4-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and drove in two of the Eagles' three runs in the defeat. Adelman is now batting a team-best .486 through 10 games and leads the team in runs, hits and RBI.
The Eagles return to the diamond with back-to-back road contests against Birmingham-Southern and LaGrange College this Tuesday and Wednesday night. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM EST.
