Emory Golf Completes Play At Gordin-Myers Classic

The Emory University golf team completed play at the Gordin-Myers
Classic this afternoon, recording a seventh-place finish. The
54-hole event was held at the Duke University Golf Club (par 72,
7105 yards) and featured a Division I individual championship as
well as a Division III team and individual event.
Emory recorded a final team score of 956 (313-322-321) and was led
by sophomore Ryan Dagerman who posted a 12-over par 228 (72-79-77),
good for a 17th-place tie in the 66-player field which
was comprised of a number of Division I players along with the
Division teams that were competing. Senior John Ross was the
next Emory player on the team's scorecard with his 242 tying for
the 51st spot.
Methodist University took home the team championship with a 288
(288-303-289), 29 strokes ahead of runner-up Huntingdon
College. Skidmore College claimed third place with a mark of
304 while Oglethorpe was fourth at 305.
Kent Copeland of North Carolina State captured medalist honors with
a one-under score of 215 (69-74-72). Brinson Paolini of Duke
finished runner-up at 271.
Emory returns to action, Oct. 19-20, when it participates in the
Oglethorpe Fall Invitational in nearby Flowery Branch.
