Classic Day 1 Results
The No. 14-ranked Emory University golf team stands in sixth
place out of seven Division III teams after the first day of action
at the Gordin-Myers Classic. The 54-hole event is being held
at the Duke University Golf Club (par 72, 7105 yards) and features
a Division I individual championship as well as a Division III team
and individual event.
Emory recorded a 36-hole score of 635 (313-322) and was led by
sophomore Ryan Dagerman who posted a seven-over par 151 (72-79),
good for 16th-place tie in the 66-player
field. Junior Daniel Kmetz is next on the Emory
scoresheet with his 158 (76-82) tying for the 39th
spot.
Methodist University holds down first place with a 589 (288-301)
with Skidmore College standing second at 605 (304-301).
Huntingdon (609) and Oglethorpe (617) hold down the third and
fourth positions, respectively.
Kent Copeland of North Carolina State tops the individual field
with a one-under 143.
The Gordin-Myers Classic concludes on Tuesday with an 18-hole
round.
