Emory Men's Golf Team Tied For Ninth At Greensboro Invitational

The No. 14-ranked Emory University golf team stands tied for
ninth place out of 13 teams after the opening day of the Greensboro
College Invitational. The 36-hole event is being played at
the 6,772-yard, par-72 Meadowlands Golf Course in Walburg, NC.
The Eagles concluded the opening day with a team score of 305 and
are tied with Bridgewater College. Holding the top spot is
Methodist University with a 286. Host Greensboro College is
six strokes behind at 292 while Cape Fear Community College is
third with a score of 295. Oglethorpe University (298) and
Guilford College (301) round out the top five.
Senior Shane Miller turned in Emory's top score with a one-over par
73, tying him for 13th place in the 71-player
field. Freshman David Collura, playing in his first
collegiate tournament, checked in with a 76, good for a tie for
24th place. Rounding out the team's scorers were
senior John Ross and freshman Thomas Mally, both at 78.
Play at the Greensboro College Invitational concludes on Tuesday.
