Emory Golf Finishes Eighth At Greensboro Invitational
The No. 14-ranked Emory University golf team finished in eighth
place out of 13 teams at the Greensboro College
Invitational. The 36-hole event was played at the 6,772-yard,
par-72 Meadowlands Golf Course in Walburg, NC.
The Eagles concluded the second day of action by shooting a 303,
giving them a score of 608. Taking home first place was Methodist
University at 575 (286-289) while host Greensboro College
registered runner-up honors at 591 (292-299). Guilford
College and Oglethorpe University tied for the third spot with a
score of 592 and Cape Fear Community College rounded out the top
five with an effort of 595.
Emory senior Shane Miller posted a solid round of even-par 72 on
Tuesday to finish at one-over par 145, good for a seventh-place tie
in the 71-player field. Freshman Thomas Mally and senior John
Ross each totaled scores of 154 and tied for 32nd
position. Freshman David Collura closed out the team's
scorers with a 157.
Emory returns to action, Oct. 5-6, when it competes at the
Gordin-Myers Classic in Durham, NC.
