The No. 14-ranked Emory University golf team posted a 10th-place finish out of 17 teams at the Emory Spring Invitational. The 36-hole event was held at the 6,808-yard, par-70 Stonemont Course at Stone Mountain.

The Eagles of head coach Mike Phillips registered a second-round score of 316 to finish at 640. Taking home the top spot was No. 5 Greensboro with a mark of 602 (303-299), four strokes ahead of runner-up Methodist University.  Guilford College (610), Oglethorpe University (615) and Centre College (618) rounded out the top five finishers.

Emory sophomore Tae Cho used a round of 74 on Tuesday, the best effort by an Eagle during the tourney, to finish with a team-best 155, good for a 20th-place tie in the 97-player field.  Sophomore Ryan Dagerman totaled a 158 (75-83) that tied for 35th position.  Senior Shane Miller (165), freshman Thomas Mally (167) and Michael Mullavey (167) rounded out the team scorers.

Freshman David Collura, playing as an individual, came through with a 163 (79-84), while Nick Szem (167) completed the Invitational as an individual.

Chris Morris of Centre College and Peter Latimer of Guilford tied for medalist honors after 36 holes with each player shooting a four-over par 144.  Morris would go and claim the individual title by virtue of winning a one-hole playoff.
