Emory Golf Gears Up For UAA Championships

The No. 14-ranked Emory University golf team begins its “second season” when it competes at the University Athletic Association Championships on Sunday and Monday (Apr. 25-26).  This year’s 36-hole event will be held at the Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, NY.  The Locust Hill CC is the annual host of the Wegman’s International – a major championship on the LPGA Tour

Joining Emory in the Championship will be Brandeis, Carnegie Mellon, New York University and the University of Rochester.  The Tartans of Carnegie Mellon enter as the defending champion after edging Emory by three strokes last year.  Looking to defend his medalist title will be CMU’s Christopher Lee who won by three shots in 2009.  Last year, Emory’s Ryan Dagerman captured a First Team All-UAA berth, one of three Eagles to earn all-conference recognition, following his third-place finish.

In Emory’s last outing, it posted a 10th-place finish out of 17 teams at the Emory Spring Invitational.  Tae Cho was the team’s top performer after tying for 20th place in the 97-player field.
