Nick Szem Named UAA Golfer Of The Week
Emory University senior Nick Szem (Wall, NJ)
has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Golfer
of the Week for his efforts at the Golfweek Division III Fall
Invitational. It represents the first time that he has been
tabbed for the honor.
Szem was the Eagles’ top performer at the 54-hole tournament,
posting a five-over par score of 221 (74-70-77), good for a
26th-place tie in the 75-player field. His
second-round mark of 70 represented the best score turned in by an
Emory competitor during the event. The tournament was played
at the 6,888-yard, par-72 Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club in
Orlando, Fla.
Emory, ranked 14th nationally, returns to action Oct.
4-5, when it takes part in the Chik-fil-A Classic in Rome,
Georgia.
