Emory Golf Team Members Chen & Dagerman Earn All-Region Honors
Emory junior Ryan Dagerman (Dallas, TX) and
freshman Johnathan Chen (Sugar Land, TX) were the
recipients of postseason honors Tuesday evening with the pair
bringing home all-region honors.
Both Dagerman and Chen were chosen to the 2011 PING All-Southeast
Region Team while Chen landed a berth on the All-Freshman Team.
Dagerman, a First Team All-University Athletic Association member,
entered the NCAA Championships with a team-leading 73.4 strokes per
round average. He had turned in nine rounds of par or better
and had registered three top-five overall finishes in nine
tournaments including a third-place showing out of 89 players at
the Emory Spring Invitational (Apr. 11-12). He has posted
scores of 69 on three occasions this year.
Chen, who has competed in eight of the team’s nine
tournaments prior to the NCAA Championships, holds down the No. 2
position on the team’s scoresheet with a 74.2 strokes per
round mark. Chen captured medalist honors at the Emory Spring
Invitational with his 36 hole score of 142 (73-69) tying for the
10th-lowest score in school history. In addition, he
tied as the team’s top finisher with a third-place effort at
the Wynlakes Wynter Nationals (Feb. 21-22).
