Emory Golf Finishes Fourth At Chick-fil-A Invitational
The No. 15-ranked Emory University golf team wound up play at
the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday and posted a
fourth-place finish out of 21 teams. The 36-hole tournament
was played at the 6,924-yard, par-72 Coosa Country Club in Rome,
Ga.
The Eagles turned in a Tuesday score of 297 to finish with a total
of 587. The University of the Cumberlands, which started the
day two strokes out of first place, recorded a second-round 288 to
capture the title with an effort of 580. Lee University and
Shorter tied for runner-up honors at 582.
Leading the way for the Eagles was junior Tae Cho who carded a
one-over par 73 on Tuesday to finish with a 143, good for a
fourth-place tie in the 113-player field. Junior Ryan
Dagerman tied for sixth place at 144 (70-74). Rounding out
the team’s scorers were freshman Johnathan Chen
(74-73—147) and senior Nick Szem (76-77—153).
Also competing was sophomore David Collura who totaled a 155
(77-78).
Claiming medalist honors was Blake Howard of Milligan College with
a four-under 140 (70-70).
Emory returns to action, Oct. 10-11, when it competes at the
Greensboro-Gordin Classic in Greensboro, NC.
