The No. 15-ranked Emory University golf team finds itself tied for first place after the first round of action at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational.  The 36-hole tournament is being played at the 6,924-yard, par-72 Coosa Country Club in Rome, Ga.

The Eagles concluded the opening day tied with Lee University with each squad posting a team score of  290.  Shorter University is in hot pursuit, just one stroke behind at 291 while there is a four-way tie for fourth place between the University of the Cumberlands, Milligan College, William Carey and Southwestern College at 292.

Emory’s Ryan Dagerman and Tae Cho led the Eagles’ effort with each firing a two-under 70 that is good for a second-place tie in the 113-player field.  Freshman Johnathan Chen recorded a two-over 74 and senior Nick Szem rounded out the squad’s scorers with a 76.  David Collura also competed and registered a 77.
