Emory Golf Joins Up With First Tee Program
The Emory men’s golf team recently partnered with the
First Tee of Atlanta, to give 100 Atlanta based kids the
opportunity to learn from student-athletes and coaches. The
Eagles, along with Kennesaw State, Clayton State, Georgia State,
Georgia Tech, Morehouse and Ogelthorpe University provided
instruction in the areas of golf, wellness and the importance of
high school graduation and the preparations need to become a
collegiate scholar and golfer.
The First Tee of Atlanta was founded in 2000 and is a chapter of
The First Tee, an international youth program created by the World
Golf Foundation in 1997. Each year, The First Tee of Atlanta serves
more than 600 young people using the 9-hole golf course, 40
plus Tee Range and practice green of John A. White. The First
Tee of Atlanta's mission is to positively impact the lives of
Atlanta's young people by providing learning facilities and
educational programs that promote character development and
life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
