Emory Golf Captures Georgia Cup
The Emory golf team’s first-place finish at its Spring
Invitational enabled the 11th-ranked Eagles to claim the
top spot in the 2010-11 Georgia Cup standings. The Georgia
Cup is a season-long competition for all the NCAA Division III
programs in the state of Georgia including Oglethorpe University,
Berry College, LaGrange College, Piedmont College, and
Covenant.
Emory posted an adjusted scoring average of 298.625, edging
runner-up Oglethorpe’s showing of 298.765. Berry was
third at 308.00 while LaGrange (308.795), Covenant (312.923) and
Piedmont (319.704) rounded out the field.
The Eagles had three representatives on the all-state team, junior
Ryan Dagerman, freshman Johnathan Chen and senior Nick Szem.
