Raindre Named UAA Golfer Of The Week
Emory University senior Charles
Raindre (Paris, France) has been selected by the
University Athletic Association as the Golfer of the Week following
his performance at the NCAA Division III Championships (May 10-13)
in Greensboro, NC. It marks the second time during the
2010-11 campaign and third time in his career that he has been
tabbed for the honor.
Raindre made the most of his final collegiate tournament, helping
the Eagles to an eighth-place finish at nationals, the
program’s first top-10 finish since 2006. He earned
Second Team All-America honors after finishing 10th on the leader
board with a 72-hole score of three-over par of 291
(70-75-71-75). Raindre’s total established an
individual school record for the NCAA Championships, bettering the
previous mark by three strokes. Raindre turned in a pair of
sub-par rounds over the East and West Courses at the Grandover
Resort and his opening-day effort tied the school’s
individual record for the low round at the NCAAs.
Raindre played in 21 of the team’s 25 rounds this year and
ranked third on the squad with a 74.8 strokes per-round
average.
