Emory Golf Eyes Oglethorpe/Royal Lakes Invitational
The No. 15-ranked Emory University men's golf team concludes the
fall portion of its 2010-11 schedule on Monday and Tuesday (Oct.
18-19) when it competes at the Oglethorpe / Royal Lakes Fall
Classic. The 36-hole event will be played at the 6,835-yard, par-71
Royal Lakes Golf Course in nearby Flowery Branch.
This year's 18-team field includes a number of elite Division III
squads including the top three and four of the 10 top 25-ranked
teams. Greensboro heads into the Classic as the No. 1-ranked squad
followed by Huntingdon College, No. 3 Methodist and No. 9
Oglethorpe.
Methodist captured the top spot out of 16 teams last year,
recording a seven-stroke victory over Guilford. Emory turned in a
third-place performance.
In their most recent performance, the Eagles tied for eighth place
out of 18 teams at the Greensboro-Gordin Classic. Junior Ryan
Dagerman was Emory’s top performer, carding a three-over par
147 (69-78) that tied for sixth place in the 90-player field.
Tee times for the Oglethorpe/Royal Lakes Fall Invitational
begin at holes No. 1 & 10 at 8:05 a.m., both Monday and
Tuesday.
