Emory Golf Team Tied For 10th After 2 Rounds of Golfweek Invitational

The No. 8-ranked Emory University golf team stands tied for
10th place out of 18 squads after two rounds of the
Golfweek D-III Invitational. The 54-hole tournament is being
played at the 6,900-yard, par-71 Raven Golf Club at the Sandestin
Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.
The Eagles of head coach John Sjoberg shot a Monday score of 311 to
give them a 36-hole total of 619, deadlocking the team with
Birmingham Southern. Leading the field is No. 4-ranked
Guilford with a 586 (290-296) while No. 5 Illinois Wesleyan and No.
7 UT-Tyler are tied for the No. 2 spot at 595. Oglethorpe
University (608) and Rhodes College (609) round out the top
five.
Emory senior Ryan Dagerman continues to be Emory’s top
performer, carding a second-round effort of one-over par 72 that
leaves him at 146, good for a sixth-place tie in the 90-player
field. Sophomore Jonathan Chen’s 153 (75-78)
ranks him 28th overall on the leaderboard while senior
Michael Mullavey and freshman Alex Wunderlich round out the
team’s scorers, each with a 161. Also competing is
senior David Collura who checks in with a 162 (80-82).
The final round of the Golfweek D-III Invitational will be held on
Tuesday (Oct. 11).
