The No. 3-ranked Emory golf team continues the fall portion of its schedule Sunday through Tuesday (15-17) when it competes in the Golfweek DIII Invitational. The 54-hole tournament is being held at the Raven Course at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
Among the 18 programs that comprise this year's field, eight are ranked among the top 10 in the Bushnell Golfweek D-III Coaches Poll including No. 1 UT-Tyler, No. 2 Huntingdon, No. 4 Illinois Wesleyan, No. 5 Methodist, No. 6 Guilford, No. 7 Concordia (TX), and No. 10 Sewanee.
Making up Emory's five-man team contingent will be senior Keenan Hickton, juniors Connor Yakubov and Stefano Butti and sophomores Matt Organisak and Sam Galloway
The Eagles of head coach John Sjoberg are coming off a strong showing at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational, registering a second-place finish out of 18 teams. Galloway led the Emory effort with a four-under par 140 (73-67), tying for third place in the 102-player field and tying the school's fourth-best individual score for a 36-hole tournament. For his efforts, Galloway captured all-tournament honors and was selected by the University Athletic Association as Golfer of the Week.
