The Emory men's basketball team raised its record to 2-0 on its tour of Italy after posting a Sunday win over a team of all-stars from the city of Florence.
The Eagles notched a 104-84 victory, using a strong first quarter that saw them bolt to a 31-18 lead. After taking a 61-46 edge into the locker room at hafltime, Emory saw the opposition draw to within 10 points after the third quarter. The Eagles kept the Florence team at bay over the final stanza, posting a 28-18 scoring advantage to close out the contest.
Adam Gigax topped the team's scoring effort with 22 points while Christopher Avant and Geberal Baitey each chipped in 19 points. Beau Bommarito and Colin Winchester, scored 18 and 11 points, respectively.
Emory will play its third and final game of the tour on Tuesday (Aug. 15) in Milan.
