Emory Men's Basketball Places Five On UAA 30th Anniversary Team

The Emory University men's basketball program has placed five players on the University Athletic Association's 30th anniversary team.  The announcement was made by the league office on Thursday, Jan. 11.

The 30th Anniversary Team consists of each student-athlete who was named Player of the Year or accumulated five or more points in his career, with two points awarded for All-Association first-team recognition, and one point for second-team honors.

Two Eagles earned automatic spots by virtue of being named the league's MVP – Tim Garrett (1989 & 1990) and Alex Foster (2015).  Garrett, who played for Emory from 1986 through 1990, still ranks as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,875 points, while Foster (2011-15) hung up his uniform in the No. 12 spot on the Eagles' career ladder with 1,097 points.

Other Emory honorees included:
Austin Claunch (2008-12) – All-UAA First Team in 2010, 2011, 2012
Jake Davis (2010-14) – All-UAA First Team in 2012, 2013, 2014;  2nd Team in 2011
Chase Fawsett (2001-05) – All-UAA Second Team in 2003, 2004, 2005

A total of 39 players from the various UAA schools earned a berth on the 30th Anniversary Team.
