Emory Mens Soccer to Take Part in the Soccer for a Cure Classic
The Emory University men's soccer team will travel to
Fayetteville, NC this weekend to take part in two matches at the
Soccer for a Cure Classic.
The Eagles will face the host institution, Methodist University, on
Saturday, September 12th at 10:00 AM. Emory will
conclude the tournament on Sunday, September 13th at
10:00 AM against Eastern Mennonite University.
Emory will enter the match ranked 10th in the region
with a 1-1-0 record this season. The Eagles are coming off a
6-1 win over the University of the Ozarks, giving the Eagles a
tournament win at the Sonny Carter Invitational. This weekend
will mark the first road contests of the season for Emory.
Methodist will enter Saturday's contest with a 1-3-0 record in
2009, including a 0-1-0 record at home. Emory is 7-2-0 all
time against the Monarchs, including an 8-0 win last season.
Eastern Mennonite University is 1-0-2 this season, including a
0-0-1 mark in neutral matches. The Eagles and the Royals have
met just once before, during the 1998 NCAA Tournament, with Eastern
Mennonite winning 1-0.
