Ninth-Ranked Emory Looks to Bounce Back Against the University of the Ozarks
The Emory University men's soccer team will look to rebound
following its season-opening loss to Southern Wesleyan University,
as the Eagles will take on the University of the Ozarks on Saturday
at 1:00 PM.
The match will be the second and final match of the Sonny Carter
Invitational for the ninth-ranked Eagles (0-1-0), who suffered at
2-1 defeat at the hands of the NAIA's Southern Wesleyan Warriors on
Wednesday night. Junior Jake Graetz scored
the Eagles' only goal in the game, with assists from
Christopher Howie and Michael
Scannapieco.
The University of Ozarks Eagles are 1-0-0 this season, after
defeating Harding University 4-1 on Tuesday. The Eagles went
14-3-4 last season. This will be the first meeting between
the two teams in the history of the programs.
Action at the Sonny Carter Invitational will continue later in the
day, as Oglethorpe University will face Southern Wesleyan
University at 3:30 PM at the Woodruff Physical Education Center.
The tournament will conclude on Sunday, as Oglethorpe
University will host the University of the Ozarks on the Oglethorpe
campus at 1:00 PM.
