The No. 8-ranked Emory University Men's Soccer team continued its strong start to the season on Saturday, taking care of business against Rowan University, 1-0, in the first game of the Ciallella Classic played on the campus of Rutgers-Camden in Camden, New Jersey.
Junior Keegan McCombie notched the lone goal of Saturday's defensive battle, breaking the scoreless tie in the 37th minute with a shot that banked off the crossbar and over the goal line. Classmate Jun Tsuru picked up the assist on the play.
The two teams combined for just 15 shots on the afternoon with Tsuru and sophomore Josh Berman tallying a game-high two shots. Sophomore Cole Gallagher recorded his second shutout of the year, making a pair of saves over the 90 minutes to preserve the one goal lead.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow with a matchup against the host Scarlet Raptors, beginning at 2:00 PM from Rutgers-Camden Community Park.
