Prior to Emory:
Swam for Socastee High School for four seasons, serving as the team captain during his senior year... Recorded times of 4:38.81 in the 500 Free, 1:43.28 in the 200 Free, 1:57.41 in the 200 IM and 4:09.09 in the 400 IM... Was the State Champion in the 200 IM twice and an all-region and all-state swimmer four times... A nine-time USS State Champion, five-time Junior National qualifier, and member of the 2006 French National team... Coached by Dr. Jay Presslar and James Smith... Also played golf in high school.
