Petroff Named UAA Athlete of the Week for Men’s Swimming

Emory University swimmer John Petroff earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week honors, following his performance during the Eagles' season-opening win against Davidson College.

Petroff finished first in the 100-yard butterfly in a provisional qualifying time of 51.13 seconds.  The senior and five-time all-American also finished first in the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.16) and as the butterfly leg of Emory's 200-yard medley relay (1:35.69).

Petroff's performance at the meet helped guide the Eagles to a 169-106 season-opening victory over Davidson.  The Eagles will continue their season on Saturday at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
