Augustyn Named UAA Swimmer of the Week
Emory University junior Patrick Augustyn was
named the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) Men’s
Swimmer of the Week, following his performance at the second-ranked
Eagles home meet against Darton College and the Savannah College of
Art & Design.
Augustyn finished first in two events during the meet, including a
victory in the 200-yard butterfly with a ‘B’ cut time
of 1:52.96. He also swam the butterfly leg of the
Eagles’ 400-yard medley relay team, which won the event with
a time of 3:28.00. In the 100-yard butterfly, Augustyn
claimed second with a time of 50.79 seconds.
Augustyn’s efforts helped second-ranked Emory to a 193-50 win
over Darton College, and a 151-111 victory against SCAD. The
Eagles improved to 3-3 this season in dual meets with the
victories.
This is the second time this season that Augustyn has been honored
as the UAA Swimmer of the Week. He previously earned the
honor on November 15th, following the Emory Fall
Invitational.
Augustyn and the rest of the Eagles will return to action this
weekend, as Emory will travel to Wingate University on Saturday,
