The Emory University men’s swimming and diving team finished its 2010-11 campaign as one of the top programs in the nation again, claiming third place at the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships.

The finish marks the 11th top-three finish for the Emory men at the NCAA Championships, and the team’s seventh third-place finish.  Emory has now recorded 12-consecutive top-four finishes in the Nation.

The Eagles scored 348.5 points during the meet, finishing behind only first-place Denison University (500.5 points) and second-place Kenyon College (499.5 points).

The Eagles opened the final day with a pair of all-America finishes in the 1,650-yard freestyle, as junior Paul Weinstein finished fourth with a time of 15:34.88, while senior Mark Bernstein claimed seventh with a mark of 15:38.35.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, sophomore Peter O’Brien claimed a fifth-place finish with a mark of 2:02.21 to earn an all-America honor, while sophomore Justin Beegle claimed an honorable mention with an 11th-place finish in a time of 2:02.88.
