Andrew Wilson, Cindy Cheng Named UAA Swimmers of the Week

Senior Andrew Wilson and junior Cindy Cheng were named the University Athletic Association Swimmers of the Week as announced by the Association on Monday afternoon. This is Wilson's fourth conference weekly honor of the season and 13th of his career. For Cheng, it is the fourth time she was received UAA weekly honors this season and the sixth time in her career.

Wilson was named the UAA Swimmer of the Year for the second time in his career. Wilson took home individual event titles in the 200 IM and 100 and 200 Breaststroke, setting UAA records in all three events. Wilson added event championships in both the 200 and 400 Medley Relays, both in UAA record time, and was an All-UAA finisher in the 400 Freestyle Relay. He helped the Eagles to a first place finish at the meet as Emory took home its 19th straight UAA team title.

Cheng was tabbed as the UAA Swimmer of the Year for the second consecutive year after earning event titles in the 500 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke (55.07 – UAA Record) and 200 Backstroke (1:58.46 – UAA Record) and was part of four relay title teams, helping to set new Association records in all four events. She helped the Eagles to a first place finish at the meet as Emory captured its 19th consecutive team title and 25th overall in program history.

The Eagles are in action this weekend with the Royal Open at Queens University of Charlotte before turning their attention to the NCAA Division III Championships which will be held from March 15th-18th in Houston, TX.
