The Emory University Swimming and Diving teams closed out the dual meet part of the schedule on Saturday afternoon, competing against the University of Georgia.
The Eagles registered a single event victory at the meet to go along with three NCAA B Cut times. The Bulldogs swept the meet, defeating the Emory men 164-121 and topped the Eagle women 173-94.
Senior Oliver Smith collected the solo win for the Eagles, taking first in the 50 Freestyle with a NCAA B Cut of 20.33. In the 100 Backstroke on the men's side, sophomore Sage Ono posted his second straight NCAA B Cut in the event, finishing third at 49.61. For the women, senior Cindy Cheng claimed a NCAA B Cut as well in the 100 Back, also taking third at 57.01.
Ono added a third place effort in the 100 Butterfly with a mark of 51.10 while junior Patrick Leonard was third in the 200 IM at 2:03.60. Smith helped the 400 Freestyle Relay team to a second place showing in the event, as the team of juniors Zachary Chen, Trey Kolleck and senior Alexander Hardwick touched in a time of 3:05.78.
Cheng turned in another third place finish in the 200 Backstroke with a mark of 2:05.08 while junior Fiona Muir paced the Eagles with a pair of top-four finishes in the 50 Freestyle (4th, 24.29) and 100 Freestyle (52.78). Cheng helped the 200 Medley Relay quartet place third along with juniors Ashley Daniels, Meg Taylor and freshman Rachel Song, touching at 1:47.14 and in the 400 Freestyle Relay, Muir with teammates Taylor, senior Ming Ong and freshman Lucy Daro came in fourth with a time of 3:33.69.

The Eagles return to the pool in less than two weeks as Emory hosts the 2018 University Athletic Association Championships. The four-day meet kicks off at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center inside the WoodPEC on Wednesday, February 14th and runs through Saturday, February 17th.
