Emory University swimmers freshman Calvin Furbee and senior Hannah Baratz were named the University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Auburn Invitational over the weekend. It is the first career weekly conference honor for both swimmers.
Furbee registered a NCAA B Cut of 1:50.70 in the 200 Butterfly and added times of 4:37.14 in the 500 Freestyle, 50.48 in the 100 Butterfly and swam the third leg of the 200 Medley Relay (1:34.29).
Baratz secured a NCAA B Cut time of 56.35 in the 100 Backstroke and narrowly missed NCAA qualifying marks in the 50 Freestyle (24.09) and 200 Freestyle Relay (1:35.68). Baratz also raced in the 100 Freestyle, touching at 53.00, and in the 200 Medley Relay (1:48.68).
The Eagles will travel to the University of Chicago later this week for the UAA Championships from Wednesday to Saturday.
