Emory Men's & Women's Tennis Teams To Be Featured on CBS NCAA Spring Championship Show
The Emory University men's and women's tennis programs will be
featured on CBS when the network airs its NCAA Spring Championship
Highlights Show this Saturday (July 4) at 2:00 p.m. The
telecast recaps NCAA Championships with an emphasis on Divisions II
and III.
Both the men's and women's squads posted third-place finishes at
their respective national championships. In addition,
recently graduated Michael Goodwin became the
first men's player in school history to capture the men's singles
championship while Lorne McManigle brought home
the women's singles crown. It marked just the third
time in NCAA Division III history and the first time since 1987
that the men's and women's individual champion had come from the
same school.
In addition, a feature is slated to run on the men's tandem of
Michael and Chris Goodwin who earned All-America
acclaim during the year while playing doubles. The Goodwin brothers
finished 2008-09 with a 23-7 ledger and were ranked as the No. 7
doubles team in the nation.
