Emory's Chris Goodwin and Dillon Pottish Reach Semifinals of ITA Regional Singles Championship
Emory sophomores Chris Goodwin and Dillon Pottish have
reached the semifinals of singles play at the ITA Regional
Championships hosted by the University of the South.
Goodwin, the defending singles champ and No. 1 seed in this year's
tourney, defeated a pair of teammates on Saturday, topping Eric
Rothschild, 6-1, 6-3 and Dylan Wright, 6-1, 6-3, to advance to
Sunday's action where he will meet No. 3 seed Michael Locandro of
Birmingham Southern.
Pottish, the No. 4 seed, also had to turn back a pair of fellow
Eagles, defeating junior Colin Egan, 6-1, 6-2 and Alex Chun,
6-1, 6-2. Pottish's semifinal opponent will be No. 2 seed
Antti Saari of North Carolina Wesleyan.
In doubles, Goodwin and Pottish reached the semifinals and will
meet the Emory tandem of Rothschild and Will Humphreys. The
Eagles have another duo in the semifinals with senior Chris Redmond
and junior Chris Jordan looking to advance into the finals.
Action begins at 9:00 a.m. (CDT) on Sunday.
