Emory's Dillon Pottish And Chris Goodwin Fall Short In Bid For Doubles Title At ITA Small College Championships
The Emory sophomore duo of Dillon Pottish and Chris Goodwin fell
short in their bid for the doubles crown this evening in the
Division III portion of the Small College Championships in Mobile,
Alabama.
Pottish and Goodwin met Middlebury's Andrew Thomson and Andrew Lee
in the championship match with the latter tandem coming away with a
6-1, 2-6, 7-6 with the third set being decided by a 7-5 tie
breaker. Earlier in the day, Pottish and Goodwin earned their
spot in the finals after picking up a 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Taylor
Borda and Josh Rifkin of Ithaca.
In singles action, Pottish notched a 6-2, 6-3 verdict over Mike
Mattelson of Vassar. Pottish will meet Mike Greenberg of
Kenyon College in the fifth-place match on Saturday starting at
noon.
