Emory Men's Tennis Falls Short vs. Lynn
The Emory University men’s tennis team closed out its
spring break trip to Florida Thursday afternoon with a defeat to
Division II power Lynn University. The Eagles saw their dual
record slip to 3-4 following a 7-2 setback to the Fighting Knights
who raised their overall slate to 11-2.
Emory held a 2-1 lead after the conclusion of doubles play.
At the No. 2 spot, junior Alex Chun and sophomore Will Humphreys
posted an impressive 8-0 win over the Fighting Knight’s duo
of Pavanelli/Alex Voirin, ranked No. 5 among Division II doubles
teams, while seniors David Caplan and Chris Redmond registered the
Eagles’ other point at No. 3 doubles with an 8-2 decision
over Kyle Hall/Axel Joachim.
Lynn, ranked fourth nationally among Division II teams, captured
all six singles matches en route registering its fifth straight
win.
Emory returns to action on Mar. 17 when it hosts Kenyon College
starting at 2:30 p.m.
