Emory Men's Tennis Defeats Shorter College To Notch Third Straight Win
The Emory University men’s tennis team, ranked No. 3 in
Division III, notched its third straight win Wednesday afternoon as
it defeated Shorter College. The Eagles raised their overall record
to 10-7 following a 6-3 win over the Hawks who fell to 14-4.
Emory came through the doubles portion of the match holding a 2-1
lead as sophomore Chris Goodwin and senior Chris Jordan won their
contest at the No. 1 spot while sophomore Dillon Pottish and senior
Chris Redmond were victorious at No. 3.
In singles, Pottish won his third straight decision with a 6-3, 6-1
decision over Badr Cherradi, his 20th win in 26
decisions this season. Freshman Noah Simonson evened his
singles record to 6-6 following a victory at the No. 3 slot while
junior Colin Egan won his seventh straight singles encounter with a
6-1, 6-4 verdict against Bastien Russo. Senior Oliver Lopp,
playing at No. 6, also posted a victory.
Emory’s next action takes place on April 20 when it hosts
Washington and Lee in a 3:00 p.m. start.
