Emory's Dillon Pottish To Play For Singles Crown At ITA Small College Championships
Emory junior Dillon Pottish recorded a semifinal win in the
Division III singles portion of the ITA Small College Championships
on Friday and will play in the title match on Saturday. The
Championships are being held in Mobile, Alabama.
Pottish, the No. 1 seed, bested California Lutheran’s Nick
Ballou, 6-3, 6-1, and will meet unseeded Felix Sun of
Williams. Sun advanced to Saturday’s action after
topping No. 3 seed Eric Shulman of Christopher Newport, 6-4,
6-3. Saturday’s championship match is slated to begin
at 8:30 am (CDT).
The doubles team of Chris Goodwin and Will Humphreys, the No. 3
seed. were not as fortunate as Pottish as the top-seeded Trinity
University tandem of Bobby Cocanougher and Cory Kowal topped the
Eagles’ duo by a 6-2, 6-2 score.
